• Firefox
  A great free browser, with tons of add-ons and customizations.
  
• Portablefreeware.com
  If you have a flash drive on your keychain, then you need portable freeware.  This is standalone software that does not need to be installed.
  
• Google Pack
  An essential, and free, pack of software provided by Google.
  
• AVG Antivirus
  Free antivirus for your PC.  Autoupdates and works with your email.
• Meebo
  Software?  Not really, it's a web-based IM client for all major IM clients. Try it, you'll like it.
